Traveling from Moab to Cortez, CO today and hoping to find some interesting things to see along the way. We're planning to see Mesa Verde NP tomorrow.
Break down camp and take off.
A few jeeps heading off to a trail somewhere.
Open-range horses out for a stroll. Here we're heading into Canyonlands NP from a different entrance which we've not seen before. You can't drive very far in this way, but we wanted to check it out since it was on the way.
Several short hiking trails at this end of Canyonlands, many had artifacts to view at the end, so that was fun.
This was a preserved cowboy camp under a large overhang.
Some petroglyphs near the cowboy camp. There are loads of these around Moab as well.
After Canyonlands, we drove most of the way to Cortez and stopped at a couple different Pueblo artifact sites.
Arriving in Cortez, our hotel room was huge this time.
An amazing cherry pie for dessert.
We'll see what tomorrow brings.
